Seriously Having Fun

Seriously Having Fun was an exhibition by the Rotterdam party collective AanTafel!, in which nightlife was translated into a physical exhibition. Whereas AanTafel! is normally a temporary experience — a party, a dance floor, a moment — this exhibition offered space to reflect on the visual, artistic, and friendly foundation of the collective.

In addition to being organizers, the four members of AanTafel! are also active visual makers. The exhibition presented photography, illustration, and graphic design, including graduation projects and autonomous work. This offered a broader perspective on the collective and their shared love for music, creating, and community.

During the run of the exhibition, De Zolder organized weekly accompanying programming, including listening sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and film nights. These activities deepened the themes and strengthened the encounter between makers and the public.
